A professor who worked as an Uber Driver when he wasn’t teaching was recently charged with this crime after hitting on some passengers and driving them away from their destination. According to the report, the professor had picked up two women who had requested an Uber in the early morning hours. He began telling them how good they looked and stated that he wanted to get with them. He then drove them away from their destination. The women were able to get out through the back of the car and called the police immediately.

(1) Any person who knowingly seizes and carries any person from one place to another, without his consent and without lawful justification, commits second degree kidnapping.

(2) Any person who takes, entices, or decoys away any child not his own under the age of eighteen years with intent to keep or conceal the child from his parent or guardian or with intent to sell, trade, or barter such child for consideration commits second degree kidnapping.
