Pointing a gun at someone else or discharging a firearm in a reckless manner is charged as Prohibited Use of Weapons in Fort Collins and Larimer County. A man could be facing this charge after doing both those things to get his neighbor to leave the area. According to the report, the men both resided in an area that has been evacuated for a natural disaster. The one man came back to check on things and his neighbor who had not left the area didn’t react well. The man pushed his neighbor and then aimed his gun at him. He also fired the gun at the sky. Maybe the neighbor thought the man was up to something nefarious – who knows? But, if this had occurred in Fort Collins, Loveland, or Estes Park, and the police were called, the man would likely be facing Prohibited Use of a Weapon charges.
