When Can I Petition to Deregister in Fort Collins?

If you have a class 1, class 2, or class 3 felony sex offense, you can petition to deregister 20 years from the date you completed all court requirements.

If you have a class 4, class 5, or class 6 felony, or a class 1 misdemeanor Unlawful Sexual Contact or 3rd Degree Sexual Assault sex offense, you can petition to discontinue sex offender registration 10 years from the date you completed all court requirements.

If you have a Sexual Exploitation of a Child offense under C.R.S. 18-6-403(3)(b.5), you can petition to deregister 10 years from the date you completed all court requirements.

If you have any other misdemeanor sexual offense, you can petition to deregister 5 years from the date you completed all court requirements.

If you successfully completed a deferred judgment and sentence or a deferred adjudication, then you can petition to deregister after the successful completion of the sentence and dismissal of the case.

If you were convicted of a sex offense as a minor (under the age of 18), you can petition after you complete all court requirements.

If you are required to register quarterly (every 3 months), have multiple sex offense convictions, or you are labeled a Sexually Violent Predator, then you may never petition the court to deregister.
