Woman Stabs Boyfriend over Lack of Birthday Celebrations

A woman was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault after stabbing her boyfriend with a box cutter for not getting her a birthday gift.

In Fort Collins and Larimer County, Domestic Violence is a sentence enhancer added to any underlying crime, like Assault. A woman was recently charged with Domestic Violence Assault after her birthday didn’t go as planned. According to the article, it was the woman’s 55th birthday and her boyfriend let her down as far as celebrations go. He didn’t take her out for a meal, get her a card or a gift to acknowledge the day. This apparently angered the woman, to the point where she grabbed a box cutter and stabbed her boyfriend repeatedly and threatened to kill him. I bet he remembers his next girlfriend’s birthday.

Not much information was given regarding the injuries the boyfriend sustained. It is important information because it would be the determining factor in which degree of Assault the woman would be facing. If the man sustained serious bodily injuries, then she would be facing First Degree Assault charges for causing serious bodily injury with a deadly weapon. If the man sustained bodily injury from the stabbing, then she would be facing Second Degree Assault charges.
