Making a lot of noise in a public place is charged as Disorderly Conduct in Fort Collins and Larimer County, even if it is part of a demonstration to make a point. Recently, the co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream took to the streets for a demonstration, that ended up getting him arrested. According to the report, he and two others used a PA system to blast jet noise across the town. He was apparently trying to show the residents what life would be like if their town became part of the National Guard’s fighter jet flight path – an issue the citizens will be voting on soon. His point was that if by blasting the noise he was disturbing the peace, then so would the fighter jets. Honestly, a point well-made if you ask me because he was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct.
